I've got an itch to do something that may or may not have been done before.
I want to take my Career Ultra 9mm and cut the upper air tube into a half moon leaving a gap between the barrel and the cutaway portion of the remaining air tube.
This wold leave enough room to fit a working shroud over the barrel.
I'd want the shroud longer than the barrel, a lot longer so as to have enough volume to make it effective. Then I'd want to extend the current upper air tube (what's left of it) to the length of the shroud and recoup the lost air volume I'd of lost by cutting into the air tube to put a shroud on.
The cutaway upper air tube, or, rather, what's left of it, could be either sealed to the shroud or sealed off in a half moon shape.
This making sense to you guys?
Who would have the skill to do this? I know it will be very costly. But I'm sort of one tracked about fixing this one up.
It would require some pretty good welding skills, knowledge of the shroud and how to make it or someone to make the shroud for the welder to work from at that point.
And yes, I know I can get other Air Guns that may fit my needs better.
But that isn't what I want.
I want to shroud this Ultra and make it deadly quiet without having to worry about some young game warden out to put some notches on his belt by, even if incorrectly, trying to pin some legal infraction on me for having or using a LDC.
