RWS Diana 34P spring replacement Empty RWS Diana 34P spring replacement

    Post by 07condor22 Sat Jul 09, 2011 1:20 pm

Is my RWS Diana 34P. Using a UTG 11mm to Picatinny canted rail with Weaver low tip off scope rings and Leapers 3-9x32 scope. Deadly out to bout 40yds. The scope being the weak link to be replaced.

The spring has broken and I plan a rebuild, soon as I buy replacement spring.

Whom or which company should I buy a rebuild kit or should I send it to Umarex USA for Warranty Repair.

    Thanks Sam

You could contact Rob Hawkins. He's sure to have a good answer and maybe even a good repair for you. We've never heard a bad word about this guy.

If you do contact him, be sure to let us know your complete experience with him. Tell him that we sent you.

Personally, I don't have a springer unless you count my Walther Falcon Hunter with Nitro Piston so I don't have much to add other than this.

Maybe someone else will chime in for a little help on the subject.

But, in the interim, I'd check with Rob.

I have a brand new 34 factory spring here. Or, PM or call me and I'll help you choose a good tune kit and piston seal to drop in.

Um, guys, I really like that www.airgunsinc.org is working good for an avenue of your commerce and contact point, after all, that's one of our goals as a forum, however, could we keep the exchange of information public so that all know what this sort of things costs? I mean, unless there is a deal that isn't for just anyone, it would be great for the rest of us to be able to put our finger on the pulse of something like this ourselves. I, for one, didn't have an idea of this and I too get a chance to learn if you do.

Cool with you guys? It's what a forum does, you know? I don't mind the PM thing as long as it isn't being used for support but do post about it to keep us all in the loop, as it were. Thank you kindly for understanding!

Okay, I"ll get out of your hair now. Please pardon the interruption!

    $9.00 shipping in USA.

You'll have to get the screw from Umerex. (479) 646-4210.
It looks like part number 77...

    Post by 07condor22 Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:26 am

Just placed my order To AirRifleHeadQuarters for Spring/guide-tar kit, Apex piston seal and a jug of special Moly Paste. Total order + shipping was less than 100 $, actually it was a few ¢'s less the 95 $. This was the price range I was shooting for, so now I can rebuild by 34P.

    Thanks again Rob

My RWS 34P rebuild is complete and it was a tremendous success! If you decide to do this by yourself I recommend using a spring compressor-or have a friend push the trigger group retaining pins into the compression tube?

I did the initial break in with some crosman premier heavy paper box pellets and it didn't like 'em! Off the rest I could hold about an inch at 30 yards. I just ordered some JSB Diabolo Exact Heavy .177 Cal, 10.2 Grains, Domed, 500ct and tried some off the rest. Now these were the ticket, could hold 1/2inch off the rest and close to that offhand at 30yards. I ordered from Straight Shooters, simply the best price, I could find?

    http://www.straightshooters.com/index.html

    http://www.straightshooters.com/jsb/jpjsbexact.html

    http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/zoomed_model.pl?model_id=388&type=P

I lubed a box of the JSB Heavies with some Finish line-Krytech, a dry moly-teflon chain lube. I have had good luck before and it didn't let me down today. Didn't test 'em on the bench, but my off hand plinking proved dead on! Allow ample time for Krytech to dry or cure, in liquid form it's extremely flammable!

    http://www.finishlineusa.com/products/kry-tech.htm

Some say don't lube spring gun pellets, but John Wiscombe, who built the most powerful spring guns of his time recommended lube and invented wiscombe honey? I'm still learning and I can rebuild or replace my gun should it not work out. I think light pellets and my ignorance destroyed the first spring and with lubed heavy pellets may do the same again? Rolling Eyes

BTW Telling my friends I could make a sonic boom with a pellet from my spring and proving it, made the looks of disbelief-all most worth it-would first shoot a heavy pellet and then shoot a Gamo gimmick gold raptor pellet to make the boom. Little did I know it was destroying my spring. And these pellet contain iron or nickel. Get a good strong speaker or magnetron magnet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YZuxEtzD9c and wave it over the Raptor pellets and watch 'em dance? I don't think they're good for my barrel, either way my spring broke prematurely Sad
