honor system, make up a few different categories. you scan your target or take a pic with a measuring device included, and post them here.just a thought to pass the time, and have a bit of fun. if any one is interested, speak your mind. we could do pistol, springer, pcp, and big bore, and at different ranges, just to name a few. any other ideas welcomed!

Actually, ny, I think this is a wonderful idea. As part of the saff here I applaud this whole heartedly.

Although you might set it up to be more conducive to what most of the guys have, i.e., .177's .22, and riffles. Personally, I think that any weight class could be included and any rifle becuase that would not limit the field of players as much.

But some of us work, some of us have a hard time getting around (my case in the latter) and so forth so you'd have to stretch it over a time frame to give all a chance to play.

I'd love it. I've got some mad skills with some of AGs I'm rather proud of and would welcome any chance like this to show them off!

yes , we could make up different categories/classes and just keep it ongoing to be shot at each competitors leisure such as in a sticky thread that can be continuously added to by anyone, maybe do a scoring count once month Question

i guess there should probably be two differemt categories. one for springers and one for pcp. then, sub-categories for caliber. start small and work your way up, or, post the catagories and let whoever shoot whatever and let them post their results in the appropriate category/ sub-category.

as far as range, why not adjust that to reflect powerplant, cal.

in other words, .177 springer category, start at 10 yds. w/ a max of say 50 or 60 yds. . on the other end of the scale, .25 pcp, start at 25 yds. and go out to 100 yds. , or longer, if guns( and ego's)Laughing permit.

    sound like a workable plan?

    I'll second this? Anyone?

Although I'm ever mindful of the ego not permitting. You guys all seem so darn good at out to 100 yards and I never get a chance to shoot that far and won't take a shot since at beyond 50 with certain AGs, and good ones, mond you, I don't seem to hit anything but dead air!

But hey, a little competition always makes you better, right? (yea, that's it, just keep thinking that, Squirrel, good as any other excuse to shoot!)

just got done tinkering with my condor this morning. you guys are in for a hard time:P . got one of the maddog stocks and a one piece tophat from TT. changed out the hammer spring for a hardware store special, and made a spacer to take the place of the power wheel. not going to bore you with the whole string, but 30 shots averaged 988 fps. started with 2600 psi. and finished with 1800 psi. does anyone have any interest in having a postal match? 1497655283 i'm stoked!!!!

those maddog stocks are amazing. my groups averaged 1/2 " at 50 yds. with the stock installed, they were printing under 3/8" at the same distance. the wind was from the N-NE at around 8mph. from my position, that put it at roughly a 30 degree angle blowing towards me. give me a nice calm morning, and i can forsee some true one hole groups.

i have a little more testing to do, but , work rears it's ugly head. won't be back until next weekend. ( if i'm lucky ).

i'll be ready to start posting groups after that. really looking forward to this postal shoot:D Very Happy

I'm reminded of a song by Tom Petty in where he states: "Hey, Spike! Ya scarring my wife!" Smile

That's it: I'm officially scared! I don't know if I wan't to make a fool of myself with you guys! OMG!

Naw, just kidding. You guys will be a tough nut to crack, for sure, if I want to make a mark on the target and get noticed.

But them's all fighten words! I'll do my best! What little I can when I can.

My luck is that by the time I get a good day to be able to do it, it will be all over and done and the fat lady having already sung.

    But I"m still in.

Stay tuned to this same Bat Time, this same Bat Channel, and see the masked crusader "POW, SMACK, POW" the bad guys!

i'm getting my long career in 22 all ready for the pcp end of it. it bucks the wind pretty good and is silly accurate with the eun jin domes. i still have some modding to do on my 22 condor so the butt is solid, but that one does really well also with cp on low or eun jins on high.if we have a 10m shoot i will be using my rws34 or bsa built cfx

That's one thing I like about our forum here, so far . . . A lot of use have been around the bend, so to speak and can remember those "good old days".

I was SO amazed at the antics and tricks they could do as CRIME FIGHTERS, not singers of crime and hate back then. Now I'm just a jaded movie watcher that has to have a lot of eye candy in a show to make it worth my while just to watch it.

I took a squirrel at 50 yards in the head the other day, guys. Look out! I'm getting better! Might just take this postal match before it's over and done with regardless of the lack of range space!

It's all green and pleasant weather down here (pick, pick, brag and rub it in to you snow birds). Everything is green and coming back a little early this year---including those pesky squirrels.

But this year and last is seeing fewer of them and less nuts and acorns on top of the engine block---and none climbing through my attic so far. The war on them seems to be having a toll in our favor. They'll alway be coming and around---no way I can decimate them THAT much. But I should have a point of respect with the ways-and-means-committee while she plants her seasonal tomatoes and other garden what knots.

So, how you doing on this Griz? Keeping track of all these guys getting in on this postal match thing?

yep so far it's squirrel, roachcreek, myself, and longhunter. i don't think roachcreek owns a springer, so we're going to have to start with pcp i guess. can everyone that's in get 50 yards? i know i can as well as roachcreek, and he's the one i'm most worried about, he'll probably smoke us all! i don't think he even bothers to shoot that close. man has some skills! i do have a place to go where i can stretch my range as far as i care to, but i'm not sure about anyone else. how far can the rest of you stretch it out?

i'm a member of the local gun club, so, i've got pretty much unlimited range.

50 yds. sounds like a good place to start. try and get some trigger time this weekend, after i finish my " honey do " list.Rolling Eyes

Most I can do here is about 40. Shooting squirrels I can reach out to an adjacent property but I don't know how'd that'd translate into accutally putting up a target---prob not well.

I'm sure I can find a way or a place---will have to do some checking on the when and where.

i've only got one filly on my stable, as of now, my condor. just got back into ag's about a year ago. took a lot of fuel to get that bird in the air, if you know what i mean, so, that's all i'll be posting with.

    couple of questions;

    1) how many targets can we post, per gun.

    2) how many rounds per target, 3 or 5.

    3) do we want to start the pcp's at 25 yds., or less.

    4) a suggestion : screen name, cal.,powerplant, ( springer, pumper, pcp ), range, # of rounds and pellet written on target, ( in frame ). this way we can avoid a lot of confusion when posting multiple targets with multiple guns. as far as ammo, that might give some other people an idea of what to try in their guns, as well as a more complete record for us. just a thought.

my head hurts from all this thinking.

don't know how to import photobucket to this site, so, just go to photobucket/ scottdeckers album. the first four pix are from today.

first group is 25 yds., second is 50 yds.. these weren't cherry picked, just 2 shots at the sighter and have at it. the other two pix are of the range.

i measured the groups " outside " to get ctc., subtract .250".

best i could do, it was kinda breezy. but hey, somebody's gotta break the ice.Laughing

i thank you sir! not my best effort, it was a little windy by the lake. i kind of rushed the session, had too much work to do at home, before it rains. maybe i'll get some more time tomorrow.

by the way, how did you " fix " the upload?

didn't see that in the camera, looks like my hand holding the caliper moved a little when i snapped the picture.
