Need Fishing Gear Empty Need Fishing Gear

Post by Abda Tue Feb 18, 2014 11:52 am

I will be fishing in a big fresh water lake. (Big = many square miles).

I need some good gear to catch Bream, Crappy, rehear, etc.. , Bass and mid to heavy Catfish. This occasion is a last time get together with certain members of my family. It will, in all likelihood, be the last time some of them can, or will ever, be able to do something together that has been a family thing within our direct blood lines.

---multiple rods, reels, bream poppers Okay.

Looking for recommendations. Cost range and be from moderate to extreme. Type can be of any that WORKS well.

Secondly, for those that do not know, I'm a 100% Permanently Disabled Veteran: fully service connected. I have a lot of spinal issues. I HAVE used a foot controlled Trolling Motor. However, I would like to see options for a console controlled trolling motor. This would eliminate human nervous system motor control issues with my right foot. Would like the trolling system to include a hand held and remote device to guide the motor while I fish.

Not interested in auto pilot that connects to GPS system unless will work with my current setup.

Joy stick is preferable but not mandatory.

Have figured on 50 to 70 LB Thrust.

The boat is a flat bottom John boat: Yamaha G3 series with Stick Steer and 50 Horse Power ( Yea, it does get there!). It is equipped with GPS and Marine Radio connected to GPS with Distress Button that will notify Coast Guard of my location should the need arise. (Not comfortable being completely isolated withstanding my physical limitations.)

Any help AT ALL would be GREATLY appreciated!

Do not hesitate to provide company phone numbers that gets me to a live body for person to person discussion, please.

Thanks for your time if you made it this far. I can't tell anyone how frustrating it is to be limited and/or cut from a sport I so much enjoy!

    P.S.
Pictures of boat in question available upon request.

    Humbly and Sincerely Yours,
    -Abda
