As some of you know my son James just got back from Afghanistan, first tour. He has done 3 tours in Iraq.

Well today he called as said he was the recipient of the Order of St. Maurice. It is given to an individual for the following...

The Order of Saint Maurice is awarded by the National Infantry
Association and the Chief of Infantry of the United States Army.
Recipients must have demonstrated a significant contribution in support
of the Infantry and must represent the highest standards of integrity,
moral character, professional competence, and dedication to duty. The
award is named after Saint Maurice, the leader of the Roman Theban
Legion in the 3rd century. R3 is proud to recognize 1SGT James A.
Burciaga receipt of this award for his conspicuous contribution to the
U.S. Army Infantry during service in Kabul, Afghanistan during
    Operation Enduring Freedom.

Sorry, I don't have a pictures of him receiving the award. He is up for
the board in April for Sargent Major,,,that's my boy. He just emailed me
a picture of him and his wife from the ceremonies.

From one to another, on both counts, thank him for his service and the way his father feels about him.
