    Quigley Empty Quigley

Post by ORairgunner Wed Feb 06, 2013 10:35 pm

Just got notified by Dan at XP-airguns that my Quigley 12 ga air rifle with a 42" barrel will be arriving at my place on Monday the 11th UPS. I've been waiting a long time for it, will be good to get it in my hands.
    Boooom Regards, Tom

    Quigley Empty Quigley again

Post by ORairgunner Thu Feb 14, 2013 2:05 am

It did show up on Monday and is in great shape, no complaints. Busy now getting into the casting bullets hobby, loads for these are much to expensive to buy. $38 for 25 bullets and $28 for 50 balls. I pushed a .735 ball through it today and the grooves measured at .730. The .735 ball looked just about right with a 1/8 to 5/32 groove scrape on it. The .730 balls I bought were only printing the lands. The .735 ball I made by squeezing in a vise, have some .735 balls on order from track of the wolf and should be here in a few days. Regards, Tom

Quigley Empty 902 ft lbs on ball

Post by ORairgunner Thu Feb 14, 2013 6:40 pm

Sun is out, so did some shooting today. Hooked the gun up to a regulator on a 444ft tank filled to 4200lbs. On low power the .729 dia 581 gr ball did 759 fps at 2800lbs for 734 ft lbs. Oh high it did 836 fps at 4000 lbs for 902 ft lbs. Might do a little better when the .735 dia balls show up since the .729 balls probably have a little air leaking by them.
    Regards, Tom
