    H&N .25 Cal, Round Lead Balls, Graphite-Coated, 200ct

    What's the verdict on these?

    Anybody ever tried them?

no, but i've tried #3 buckshot. good for short range, not enough weight to get much fpe. pretty accurate out to about 40-45 yards. hard to keep them subsonic.

Well, I broke down and put the micrometer to some rounds. I can give figures if anybody wants them.

The .25 Polymag *will* work but they'll get skirt pinched and that will, as we all know, cause problems. In my Sumatra 2500 500cc .25 I use the crow magnum 18.21 gr in and they work VERY well on small game and for accuracy. But that's a cylinder load.

I tried them in the .25 carbine RWS Career 707 and he didn't like that food to much. Then it occurred to me: The 000 buck at .360 works well in the Career Ultra 9mm so why not go try a ball in the Carbine .25 cal? It's in-line clip feed and would be great.

I bought a tin of them but it will be a few days before they get here. I don't see how I'd get them to load right, single load notwithstanding, in any of the others I've got in my herd.

Wonder? scratch Reckon the graphite will gum up my barrel?

Got a link for that #3 buckshot? I'd like to see some details.

Strange I can't find the weight on the .25 round balls now . . .

the graphite won't hurt your barrell. as far as a link, i just bought them at my local gunshop. if you have a local gun club, ask if anybody reloads #3's. maybe you can score a couple to try out. i used to know the weight, but i can't recall off hand what it was. i think it's somewhere around 24grains.

    Will do!

    Thanks!

Yea, that's about what I thought I saw on the weight for the ones I just bought. Somewhere there abouts anyway.

Shooting it in a RWS Career .25 cal carbine. Ought to be interesting . . .

    We'll see.
