    Death in the family

Post by Abda on Fri Sep 02, 2011 8:57 am

Most of our members are my age or older and we've all come to know a loss of a loved one at some point so I know I'm not alone in this type of thing. It is, unfortunately, one of the facts of life we all have to live with and experience at some point.

But, as you all may have noticed, I've not been posting that much to the The Independent that much here of late.

This is because I have had a death in my family: My father passed. This emotional loss is further complicated by probate issues and, quite frankly, it's draining me both financially and in time resource.

I'll be posting again to our friendly site soon but for the time being I hope that the rest of you will continue great conversation and sharing that brings in more of the same.

    Thanks for your time,
    Abda

My condolences on the loss of your father.
I hope the troubles this always brings up will resolve quickly but that your memories of the good times you had together will live on forever.

I will someday experiance this, both of my parents are still living, Mom is 90 just the other day and Dad is 95!!! Mom has Alzheimers and is not herself anymore, but Dad will probably live to be 100!!! Stuborn old fart that he is.... LOL!

    Appreciate that. Really, I do.

Mom passed a few years back and Dad gone now it seems so surreal. They were both such strong willed and filled with fortitude type souls.

Leaves just me and Sis now. I've got the task now of handling probate issues. I did think that doing this would be difficult but it's turning out to be a help in closure.

From time to time I may be gone and back again as I go down there to deal with those things left undone and unfinished.

But guess that means you'll too be around a long time to come and giving us all hell with such long lived parents, eh? Good genes to have passed along to those of your own I would think.

Regardless, I thank you for the post. That was very kind of you.

    -Will
