Ranger 45 owner

I am new here, been on the TAG for some time, I have a Ranger 45 that I bought to elk hunt with, I cast 408 to 420 grain bullets, depending on the alloy.
I get some pretty good groups with these, the best so far is 1.5 iches at 100 yards, a lot of sub MOA groups at 50 yards.
My rifle is a 28 inch with the walnut basic stock that I have modded. I have a Burris Fullfield 2x7 scope on it, with the Ballisticplex.

I will post some pictures if I figure out how.

Yea, that would qualify for a big bore! My biggest big bore is a .45 Sam Yang Big bore with no grain. Just air. Does pretty good though.

As far as posting a pic, when you go to post, look at the bottom just above the "send" area. You'll see "you can attach a file". You can "browse" your computer for the file if you know where you last put it. Me? I have crap ALL over the place and remembering where I put the darn thing is the biggest problem set.

If the picture doesn't want to show up and does but with an X, try shrinking the photo but you've got a fair amount of space allotted for that kind of thing so it shouldn't be a problem.

This is the bullet from my Accuratemolds mold. I cast it from 20-1 and shot this 5 shot group at 50 yards from my 45 Ranger.

I've enjoyed your postings on the Talon, really good to have you here, you give good post. I'm on the waiting list for a Ranger .45, .58 combo in 36". I'll be asking you some ammo questions later on if you don't mind.

It looks like we are sort of neighbors. I live about 20 miles west of Eugene, been here for 5 yeaers.

Before that, I lived between Burns and John Day on King Mountain, in the only house in 110 square miles.
I raised 3 kids up there on elk meat. Still hunt there time to time.

I live about 1.25 miles east of I-5 between Albany and Salem. If for some odd reason you are going North in I-5, stop in for coffee sometime and put a few downrange. Most everything I shoot at makes noise when you hit it, so I can shoot in the rain from inside the shop.

The last time I went Elk hunting, I was about 14, in the Coos bay area, never been so wet in my life, rained for three days solid, nearly got killed by carbon monoxide poisoning from being in the tent so much with the gas griddle. I was camp guard mostly. I was probably about an hour away from not waking up, when everybody gave up and we went to a motel.

That is a powerfull and beautifull weapon you have there and deadly accurate from the looks of things....good to see you here.
